In My Mailbox #5: June 5 - June 11, 2011 Edition

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi over at The Story Siren.

The purpose of the meme is to highlight books that you have received in your mailbox over the past week.  For the books that I received that have not been released yet, I will give you the synopsis of the books and not just the names.

So here is what I received this week:

Title: Suicide Doll

Author: Claudia D. Christian

Goodreads

Narcissus was once given a little doll named Lisette. He enjoyed making her do depraved things for his selfish amusement. One day Narcissus pushed Lisette too far and he found her dangling from a cord. He tried to fix what he had broken but Lisette no longer belonged to him. Narcissus kept after his doll, chasing it through the centuries, begging to put all the pieces back together. Will Narcissus ever earn her forgiveness or will Lisette keep breaking for his punishment?

Warning*Not for those under 18 years of age*

Title: But I Love Him
Author: Amanda Grace

Goodreads

Tonight was so much worse than anything before it. Tonight he didn't stop after the first slap.

At the beginning of senior year, Ann was a smiling, straight-A student and track star with friends and a future. Then she met a haunted young man named Connor. Only she can heal his emotional scars; only he could make her feel so loved — and needed. Ann can't recall the pivotal moment it all changed, when she surrendered everything to be with him, but by graduation, her life has become a dangerous high wire act. Just one mistake could trigger Connor's rage, a senseless storm of cruel words and violence damaging everything — and everyone — in its path.

This evocative slideshow of flashbacks reveals a heartbreaking story of love gone terribly wrong.

So that's all for this week.  Pretty small haul, but then again I was away in Montreal and did no book shopping.  Not really sure why!

What did you receive in your mailbox this week?

Wow, that first one sounds so disturbing. I love it!

Oh, maybe I should just add that I don't think that the second one *doesn't* sound disturbing (it does), I've just already put it on my TBR list. This is the first time I hear of the Suicide Doll one.
